DAY 1
Pick up from the Katunayake Airport and check-in to a nearby hotel.
DAY 2
Morning leave for Kandy. Visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage witness the feeding of orphaned baby elephants and elephants bathing and frolicking in the river after their meal. Leave for Kandy the capital of the last kingdom of Singhalese Kings, undoubtedly the most beautiful city in the Island. In Kandy go on a city tour visit the Gem Museum. The temple of tooth relic is where the sacred tooth relic of Buddha is enshrined. In the evening witness a cultural Show. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.
DAY 3
Morning visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Peradeniya a botanical garden was established in 1821 and it is one of the best of its kind in the world. The many beautiful avenues will lead one to sections, which provide a burst of tropical color. After the tour of Gardens leave for Habarana. Visit a Herbal and a Spice Garden en route. Visit the Dambulla cave Temple which boasts of a history dating back to 1st century BC, where King Walagambahu took refuge here once and later he turned the caves into a temple. In Dambulla cave temple some of the ceiling paintings are over 2000 years old. Dinner and Overnight Stay in Habarana.
DAY 4
After Breakfast climb the Sigiriya Rock fortress built by King Kassapa in 5th century AD also known as the Lion Rock. The king’s palace was on top of the rock with water ponds. Marvel the world famous frescoes on the wall depicting goddesses from heaven. Late afternoon go on a safari to Minneriya National Park. Overnight Stay in Habarana.
DAY 5
In the morning, visit the mediaeval capital of Polonnaruwa (11th century &12 century). Polonnaruwa was the capital after fall of Anuradhapura. See the ruins of once a beautiful city, fortified with three concentric walls, parks, gardens, and many shrines. Go on an elephant ride in the afternoon. Overnight Stay in Habarana.
DAY 6
Morning leave for the first capital of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura was Sri Lanka’s first capital founded in 5th century BC and is considered as the cradle of Sri Lanka’s civilization. Anuradhapura has the world’s largest archeological sites. After the tour of Anuradhapura leave for Mihintale the cradle of Buddhism and the history dates back to 247 B.C. This is where King Devanampiyatissa met Arhath Mahinda the great Buddhist missionary who came from India and preached the Buddhist doctrine to the King. The King having embraced Buddhism declared the forest he met Arhat Mahinda as a sanctuary, the first historically documented sanctuary in the world. At noon check-in at the Safari Camp at Wilpattu National Park. Willpattu is situated in the Northern Eastern side of Sri Lanka. It is a fairly thick dry zone jungle interspersed with some lakes which attract a diverse variety of wildlife ranging from the sloth bear to leopard to elephant. Wilpattu is quite unique in its lush vegetation as well, even though it is a dry zone jungle it gives any explorer the feel of going through a moist and cool rainforest, which also make it home to a colourful array of reptilians. Game drive from 3pm to 6pm, dinner and overnight at Wilpattu.
DAY 7
Second day in Wilpattu National Park for other two game drives: the morning safari starts from 6am till 10am. The afternoon safari is again from 3pm till 6pm. Special dinner and overnight at Wilpattu.
DAY 8
Leave for the Airport for Departure.
