In detail:
This cruise takes you to one of the most remote and uninhabited atolls in the Maldives: Vaavu. The eastern side of Vaavu is a favorite destination for cruising boats throughout the year, thanks to several factors: short stretches of open ocean make it easy to navigate, even during the monsoon season; the atoll is easily accessible from Malé; the diving and snorkeling sites are among the best in the archipelago; there are only two resorts, ensuring a quieter and more serene experience; and the eastern tip of the atoll offers some of the most abundant fish populations in the Maldives during the dry monsoon. For the first two nights of your stay, we have selected Velassaru Maldives. The resort offers contemporary living, surrounded by tropical greenery and just steps from the beach. Your Deluxe Bungalow offers 70sqm of spacious accommodation with minimalist interiors and colorful accents, perfect for a relaxing retreat. Room and meal plan upgrades are available on request. A speedboat transfer will take you to the resort upon arrival. Please note that this resort stay can also be arranged at the end of your cruise.

Diving & fishing:
Mantas during the wet monsoon and pelagic fish throughout the year: this is what the waters and passes around Alimatha and the eastern side of Vaavu Atoll have to offer. Myaru Kandu and the Myaru Kandu marine reserve are exceptional current dives that are not to be missed by experienced divers. The outer reef at Fotteyo Falhu is known for its abundance of fish, rivaling some of the best spots in the archipelago, especially from December to April. However, there is also a wealth of marine life at Dhiggiri Point during the dry monsoon, making it a year-round dive destination.
